Samples of plants or herbs will be collected from the forest with the help of a botanist and taxonomist.
The plant materials will be analyzed in the United States for their chemical constituents using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. For plants or herbs that are already being used in Bassar traditional medicine for the treatments, information on the methods of application will be gathered and used in the screening.
